The best online Advent Calendar

For someone who loves a very traditional Christmas, I should hate the idea of an online Advent Calendar. I didn't think they could possibly be magical, exciting or at all interactive and if you do a quick google search, you'll see that the first few are TERRIBLE. But if you scroll a little further you'll see Jacquie Lawson Advent Calendars and they are brilliant animation calendars, the work and detail that goes into these is incredible. Firstly, if you've clicked on that link they have a very dated website don't let that put you off. It's a shame really as it under sells their advent calendar. Watch the video above to get an idea.

My mother in law sent me one 4 years ago when I was tied to my desk at an office job, I didn't even download it at first as I 'didn't have the time'. Little did I know. I finally did download it and have downloaded it and gifted it (that's an option) every year since. They have a different theme every year, this year is A Victorian Christmas (video above) and A Sea Side Christmas (video below). Every day you click on a new window to open, behind each one is an animation and on many of the days are added extras like:

-Tree decorating

-Snowflake making

-Longer animations

-Carol singing

And loads more. They cost $4 (yes dollars) and get cheaper the more you buy, which you then have the option to gift. They are a bit of a faff to download, which is really annoying but they are honestly worth it.

They are the perfect calendar for a Christmas lover who is always on their computer, they will bring them a little festive cheer, especially if they are stuck in an office all day. And equally for children, my little one LOVED last years one especially for the interactive games.

A Seaside Christmas

Here are a few of their past calendars:

An Edwardian Christmas

Christmas Market

Alpine Christmas
