Where to skate this Christmas
London is packed with festive ice rinks in the most picturesque locations at this time of year, from the Natural History Museum to Somerset House. Here are our top 4.
17th November 2017 - 2nd January 2018
The chance to skate in London's most dramatic ice rink, not only will you be skating in the city's most iconic historical landmark...you'll be in it. New for 2018 are the early morning sessions which are great for little skaters and families. Skate aids are available on a first come first served basis for £5. Sessions are 45 minutes long.
Child: £10.50 (Aged 3-12 and must be accompanied by an adult)
26th October 2017 - 7th January 2018
I love this Museum. The building is stunning, children love it (it's where CBeebies Andy works of course!) and with the ice rink it really does make the perfect family day out. Sessions are 50 minutes. Skate aids are available on a first come first served basis for £5.
15th November 2017 - 14th January 2018
Probably my favourite and most romantic setting. The ice rink is big but the surrounding building makes it feel cosy and intimate. SKATE really have thought of everything. New for 2017 are 'skate lates' bringing a specially curated programme of music to the rink, on nights throughout the season. The also have a 'skate school' for the younger ones, click here for more info, a Fortnum's Christmas Arcade and cafes and bars a plenty!
17th November 2017 - 1st January 2018
Home to the largest open air ice rink in the UK and set around Hyde Park's Victorian bandstand with live music, under a canopy of sparkling lights, this setting is hard to beat. You also have the benefit of already being inside Winter Wonderland, so your options to eat, see and do for before or after your skate are endless! The ice rink is open from 10am -10pm. Sessions are 50 minutes long. Skate aids are available on a first come first served basis for £5.
